Given:- ABCD is a ||gm

AB =14 cm

BC =5 cm

AC =16 cm

To find:- Area of ABCD

Solution:-

Area of triangle ABC+ADC=

Area of ||gm ABCD

Now, Using heron's formulae

a =14 cm

b =5 cm

c =16 cm

Area of ABC= s= (a+b+c)/2

s= (14+5+16)/2

s= 35/2

s= 17.5 cm

A =√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

A =√17.5×3.5×12.5×1.5

A =87.5√0.15 squ. cm

As the diagonal of ||gm divides it into two equal parts.

Therefore,

Area of ||gm= 2× Area of ABC

Area of ||gm= 2×87.5√0.15

Area of ||gm= 67.77720 squ. cm
