Answer:

420

Step-by-step explanation:

First Mark It As Brainliest

Let, Rectangular Plot be quad. ABCD

then,

CD=35 m

BD=37 m

BC=? [Draw diagram for preference]

hence,

In ∆BCD,

by Pythagoras Theorem,

BD²=CD²+BC²

37²=35²+x². (Let BC = x)

1369=1225+x²

x²=144

x=12 m

Area of rectangular plot = CD×BC

= 35×12

=420 m²

Given:

  • Measure of 1 side = 35 m
  • Diagonal = 37m

To find:

  • Area = ?

Figure is given in attachment

Method:

Let ABCD be the required rectangle.

By Pythagoras theorem,

(AC)² = (AB)² + (BC)²

⇒(37)² = (AB)² + (35)²

⇒ 1369 = (AB)² + 1225

⇒ (AB)² = 1369 - 1225

⇒ (AB)² = 144

⇒ (AB) = 144

⇒ (AB) = ± 12

Side of a rectangle cannot be negative

∴ Another Side of rectangle = 12 m

Area of a rectangle = length × breadth

⇒ Area = 35 × 12

⇒ Area of the rectangle = 420 m²

∴ Area of rectangular plot = 420
