Hi !

We know that 1 cm = 0.01m
hence, 36 cm = 36*0.01 = 0.36 m

Side of square = a = 36 cm = 0.36 m
Area of a square = a²
                           = (0.36)²
                           = 0.1296 m²

Hence, area of the square = 0.1296 m²

Hope this helps you !
