the distance between parallel side of trapezium = height

1st side = 55cm

2nd side = 47cm

Area of trapezium =

1/2 × height × ( sum of parallel side )

= 1/2 × 20cm × (55 cm + 47cm)

= 1/2 × 20cm × 102cm

= 1/2 × 2040cm²

= 2040cm²/2

= 1020cm²

Answer:

Area of a trapezium is 1020\ cm^{2} .

Step-by-step explanation:

To find :  area of a trapezium .

Given : parallel sides of trapezium are 55 cm and 47 cm and the distance between them is 20 cm .

Solution :

  • As per given data we know that , parallel sides of trapezium are 55 cm and 47 cm and the distance between them is 20 cm . We have to find it's area .
  • Area of trapezium is given by following formula :
  • Area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2} \times ( sum \ of \ parallel \ sides )\times ( height  )

                                        = \frac{1}{2} \times ( 55 + 47 )\times20 \\\\= \frac{1}{2} \times 102 \times 20 \\\\= 51 \times 20\\\\= 1020 \  cm ^{2}
