Given that perimeter of a isosceles triangle is 100cm.
Let x be the side of atraingle .
Given that One side is 10 cm greater than its equal sides.
i.e x + 10 , x , x are the sides of a isosceles triangle.
x + 10 + x + x = 100
3x = 100 -10 = 90
x = 30.
∴ 30 , 30 , 40 are sides of a isosceles triangle.
Area of a traingle = √s( s-a)( s - b)( s - c) .
2s = 100 ⇒ s = 50.
s - a = 50 - 40 = 10
s - b = 50 - 30 = 20
s - c = 50 - 30 = 20.
Area of a traingle = √50 x 10 x 20 x 20 = 20 x 10 x √5 = 200 x 2.23 = 446 cm2 .
