Find the area of path 5m wide which is surrounded outside the square pond of length 40m.

length of square pond = 40m.

therefore

area = side * side

= 40*40

= 1600m²

length of bigger square including path

(40+5+5) = 50m

therefore

area = side * side

= 50*50

= 2500m²

area of path = area of bigger square - are of smaller square

=( 2500-1600)m²

= 900 m ²✔✔✔
