Hey dear here is your answer!!!!!

___________________________

This polygon is formed by two shapes which are Hexagon and a Rectangle.

We can find are of both of them separately and add them.

We know that the area of a hexagon is \frac{3\sqrt{3}a^{2}}{2}

Here, we see that all the sides of the Hexagon are 8 cm each so it is a regular hexagon.

So, its area would be:-

= \frac{3.\sqrt{3}.8.8}{2}

= 3 x \sqrt{3} x 8 x 4

= 96 x \sqrt{3}

Substitute the value of \sqrt{3} as 1.73

= 96 x 1.73

= 166.28 cm²

Now, the area of rectangle is - l x b.

So, its area here would be:-

= 12 x 4

= 48 cm²

So, the total area of the polygon would be:-

= 166.28 + 48

= 214.28 cm²

So, 214.28 cm² is your answer !

Area of hexagon ABCDEF = 8×side
= 3.root3.side/2
= 166.28 cmsq
Area of rectangle ETHG = l×b
= 12×4
= 48cmsq
Area of polygon = area of hexagon + area of rectangle
= 166.28 +48
= 214. 28cmsq

Sue2468: sorry for disturbance
Sue2468: I forgot the area of hexagon
Sue2468: .... hope this helps you...... thanks
