Area of shaded region=

area of larger sector - area of smaller sector

=60/360×πR^2-60/360×πr^2

=1/6π{R^2-r^2}

=1/6×22/7{5^2-4^2}

=1/3×11/7{25-16}

=11/21{9}

=99/21

=4.72sq cm

Hope it helps

area \: of \: shaded \: region \: = area \: of \: large \: sector \: - area \: of \: small \: sector

area \: = 60 \div 360(\pi {r1}^{2}) - \pi {r2}^{2}

area \: = 22 \div 42(5 - 4)(5 + 4)

area \: = 11 \div 21(1)(9)

area = 11/21×9 =99/21 cm^2

area = 33 \div 7

area = 4.714285
