Find the area of the triangle formed by the line x+2y=12 and the ordinate axes ?

If we write the equation of line in intercept form, it will be
x/12 + y/6 = 1
x intercept = 12 units
y intercept = 6 units
area of triangle = (1/2)×6×12 = 36 sq. units
