Area of the given figure can be divided as, Area of ABFC + Area of FCDE.

Let's find the area of ABFC.

ABFC is a rectangle.

Area of rectangle ABFC = AB × BC = 15 × 20 = 300 cm²

Let's find the area of FCDE.

As ABFC is a rectangle, AB = FC = 15 cm.

FCDE is a trapezium.

The height of the trapezium FCDE will be 44 - BC = 44 - 20 = 24 cm.

We know that Area of trapezium is 1/2 h(a + b).

∴ Area of FCDE

= 1/2 × 24(FC + DE)

= 12(15 + 8)

= 12 × 23

= 276 cm²

∴ Area of the figure

= Area of ABFC + Area of FCDE

= 300 + 276

= 576 cm²
