MidPoint Formula

\mathsf{x = \frac{x_1+x_2}{2}, y =  \frac{y_1+y_2}{2}}\\

  • x and y are value of midpoint coordinate
  • Rest are values of respective end points.

______________________________

The mid point coordinate of line segment AB (ab) are as follows :-

→ x = (- 8 + 2)/2

→ x = - 6/2

x = - 3

→ y = (3 - 5)/2

→ y = - 2/2

y = - 1

Hence midpoint coordinate is (- 3, - 1)

Answer

We can use the formula to make answer easier

Valuables X and Y

x= 2x 1 +x 2

2y= 2y 1 +y 2

x and y are value of midpoint

segment AB

Value of x

➡️x = - 8 + 2/2

➡️ x = - 8 + 2/2→ x = - 6/2

➡️x = - 8 + 2/2→ x = - 6/2→ x = - 3

value of y

➡️ y = 3 - 5/2

➡️ y = 3 - 5/2→ y = - 2/2

➡️ y = 3 - 5/2→ y = - 2/2→ y = - 1

Therefore, Midpoint is - 3, - 1

\huge{\{\mathsf{Answer=-3 and -1)}}}
