Given,

Total number of cylindrical pillars = 15

Diameter of each pillar = 48 cm

Height of each pillar = 7 m

Cost of painting each square meter of the pillars = Rs 2.5

To find,

The total cost of painting all the pillars.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem using the following process:

As per mensuration;

The lateral surface area of a cylinder

= 2π(radius)(height)

= 2π(diameter/2)(height)

= π(diameter)(height)

{Statement-1}

Now, according to the question and statement-1;

The lateral surface area of each cylindrical pillar

= π(diameter)(height)

= π(48 cm)(7 m)

= π(0.48 m)(7 m)

{Since 1 cm = 1/100 m}

= (22/7)(0.48 m)(7 m)

= (22×0.48) m^2

= 10.56 m^2

Now, the total lateral surface area of all 15 cylindrical pillars

= 15 × (lateral surface area of each cylindrical pillar)

= (15 × 10.56) m^2

= 158.4 m^2

Now, according to the question;

Total area to be painted

= (total lateral surface area of all 15 cylindrical pillars)

= 158.4 m^2

Now, the total cost of painting all the pillars

= (total lateral surface area of all 15 cylindrical pillars)×(cost of painting each square meter of the pillars)

= 158.4 m^2 × Rs. 2.50

= Rs. 396

Hence, the total cost of painting all the pillars is equal to Rs. 396.
