one meter=100cm
1.6m=1.6*100=160cm
2.6m=260cm
area of rhombus =1/2*base*height
=1/2*160*260
=80*260=2080cm^2
cost of polishing for 100cm^2=20$
=2080/100*20
=2080/5

The cost of polishing a rhombus shaped table is Rs 4160

Solution:

Given that,

A rhombus shaped table with diagonals 1.6 metre and 2.6 m

Find the area of rhombus

Area\ of\ rhombus = \frac{1}{2} \times d_1 \times d_2

Where,

d_1 and d_2 are the length of diagonals

From given,

d_! = 1.6\\\\d_2 = 2.6

Therefore,

Area\ of\ rhombus = \frac{1}{2} \times 1.6 \times 2.6\\\\Area\ of\ rhombus = 2.08\ m^2

Convert square meter to square centimeter

1\ m^2 = 10000\  cm^2\\\\2.08\ m^2 = 2.08 \times 10000 = 20800\ cm^2

cost of polishing is rupees 20 per 100 centimetre square

Therefore,

100\ cm^2 = Rs\ 20

Thus, cost of polishing 20800\ cm^2 is:

Cost = 20 \times \frac{1}{100} \times 20800

Cost = 4160

Thus cost of polishing a rhombus shaped table is Rs 4160
