Given -

  • Diameter of cylinder(d) =42cm
  • Height of cylinder(h) =24cm

To find -

  • The CSA of cylinder

Solution -

Diameter(d) = 42cm

Radius (r)=  \frac{42}{2} cm  \\  = 21cm

We know that,

CSA \: of \: cylinder = 2\pi \: rh

Now putting the values of 'r' and 'h' we will get

CSA \: of \: cylinder = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 21 \times 24

CSA \: of \: cylinder =  \frac{22176}{7}

CSA \: of \: cylinder = 3168

\therefore \: CSA  \: of \: cylinder \: is \: 3168 {cm}^{2}

Related Formulae -

  • Volume \: of \: cylinder = \pi {r}^{2} h
  • CSA \: of \: cylinder = 2\pi \: rh
  • TSA \: of \: cylinder = 2\pi \: r(r + h)
