The cube root of  -64/125 is -4/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

the fraction is -64

                       125

To find:

the cube root of given fraction

Solution:

A cube root of a number is the number simplified and when multiplied three times give us the cube root

It is similar to the concept of square roots where the root of a number is taken out to find the number whose square it was

The sign of cube root is ∛ where 3 represents the surd value

thus, we use the cube root sign for the fraction here

= \sqrt[3]{\frac{-64}{125} }

= \frac{-4}{5}

This means that when you multiply the number -4 for three times you get 64 as your answer and the same for the number 5

Thus, -4 & 5 will be the cube roots of -64 & 125

However, if it had been a square root the negative sign with 4 wouldn't exist

But as we are looking at the cube roots the negative (-) sign is multiplied 3 odd times and hence the cube will also be negative

Hence, the cube root of -64/125 is -4/5
