Step-by-step explanation:

Given Find the curved surface area of the frustum of a cone, the diameters of whose circular ends are 20 m and 6 m and its height is 24 cm.

  • Now in  a frustum of a cone we need to find the slant height.
  • Now diameters of circular ends of the frustum of a cone are 20 m and 6 m
  • So the radius will be 20/2 = 10 m and 6/2 = 3 m
  • So R = 10 and r = 7 , but r = 10 – 3 = 7
  • Now slant height = √h^2 + l^2
  •                         = √24^2 + 7^2
  •                          = √576 + 49
  •                           = √625
  •                           = 25
  • So curved surface area CSA = π(R + r)l
  •                                              = 22/7 x (10 + 3) 25
  •                                              = 7150 / 7
  •                 = 1021.4 sq cm
