Hi thank you for asking the question
It i actually a really simple question to solve
Let me give you a step by step solution:
Date :
Side = 8 cm
To find :
Diagonal = ?

As we know that :
Formula:
Diagonal = side * √2
Diagonal = 8 * √2
Diagonal = 8 *1.41421
Diagonal = 11.28

Solution -

For the Diagram, please refer the attachment.

As It is a square all the sides are of equal length. And all four angles = 900

In this example, diagonal is a hypotenuse of right angle triangle. To find the hypotenuse (diagonal) apply Pythagoras theorem…

By Pythagoras theorem,

Hypotenuse = √((side)2 + (side)2

                     = √((8)2 + (8)2)

                     = √ (64 + 64)

                     = √128

                     = √(64 * 2)

                     = 8 √2

                     = 8 * 1.414   ------------------------as √2 = 1.414

                     = 11.31 cm

Answer – The length of the diagonal of the square is 11.31 cm
