Question :-

Find the distance between the given points P(10,-8) and Q(-3,-2).

Answer :-

Given,

P(10,-8)

Q(-3,-2)

Here, x1 = 10, y1 = -8

x2 = -3, y2 = -2

By applying Distance Formula,

PQ =  \sqrt{ {(x2 - x1)}^{2} +  {(y2 - y1)}^{2}  }

 =  \sqrt{ {(( - 3) - 10)}^{2} +  {( (- 2) -( -8 )) }^{2}  }

 =  \sqrt{ {( - 3 - 10)}^{2}  +  { ( - 2  + 8)}^{2} }

 =  \sqrt{ {( - 13)}^{2}  +  {(6)}^{2} }

 =  \sqrt{169 + 36}

 =  \sqrt{205}

Hence, the distance between the given points is √205.
