Find the distance travelled by the particle in 10 seconds in each case. What is the difference between the dotted line in graph (a) and solid line in graph (b)?​

Distance travelled in both cases will be 100 m

Assuming unit of v is m/s.

The difference in the dotted and solid line of graph (a) and (b) is that the dotted line just marks the time on x-axis that is the time axis where as

the solid one shows the body's velocity suddenly came to be zero. This happens only in case when a large force is applied suddenly i.e impulse
