Hii mate here is ur answer

Using only water as the reactant, how will you identify them ? Solution : The metal which reacts violently with cold water and catches fire is sodium. The metal which evolves hydrogen gas upon heating with water is magnesium.

Answer:

1) If we pour water on sodium(Na) metal, it will result in a large production of heat and it would burn.

2) Magnesium(Mg) reacts with water to produce a lot of heat along with hydrogen(H₂) gas. Metallic magnesium reacts rather slowly but magnesium vapour, produced when Mg burns, reacts extremely quickly due to high temperature and efficient mixing, and produces heat very rapidly. Hence, there is an explosion when water and magnesium react.t

3) Reaction of water with zinc(Zn) depends on the temperature. Under normal conditions, zinc does not react with water. But if the zinc is hot, then it will react readilywith steam to produce zinc oxide and hydrogen gas.

Hope it helps you.
