Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a line  parallel to 3x + 4y + 5 = 0 is of the form 3x +4y +k = 0

it passes (4 , -5)

3(4) +4(-5) +k = 0

12 -20 +k = 0

  -8 +k =0

      k = 8

∴ the required equation is  3x + 4y + 8 =0

(b) the equation of the line perpendicular to 3x +4y +5 = 0 is of the form

     4x -3y +k = 0

it passes (4 , -5)

4(4) - 3(-5) + k = 0

16 + 15 + k = 0

31 + k = 0

   k  = -31

∴ the required equation is 4x -3y - 31 = 0
