Question :- Find the height of a triangle whose base is 5 inches and area is 12 square inches. ?

Solution :-

Triangle :--- is a plane figure with three straight sides and three angles.

→ Area of ∆ = 1/2 * Base * Height = 1/2* ab* sinC = 1/2 * bc *sinA = 1/2 * ca* sinB = √( s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) ) [ where s = (a+b+c)/2 ]

given that,

  • Base = 5 inches .
  • Area = 12 inches² .

then,

→ Area of ∆ABC = (1/2) * Base * Height

→ 12 = (1/2) * 5 * Height

→ 12 * 2 = 5 * Height

→ 24 = 5 * Height

→ Height = (24/5)

→ Height = 4.8 inches. (Ans.)
