Area=(1/2)×b×h

38.9=(8.5×h)/2

h=(2×38.9)/8.5

h=9.15 metre

Answer:

\large{\underline{\boxed{\sf Base = 9.15 \: m}}}

Explanation:

Given that-

Area of triangle = 38.9 m²

Base if triangle = 8.5 m

We need to find the height of the triangle. Here we go:

 \text{Area of triangle} =  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \text{Base} \times  \text{height} \\  \\ \implies 38.9= \frac{1}{2}  \times \text{Base} \times 8.5 \\  \\ \implies 77.8 =  \text{Base} \times 8.5 \\  \\ \implies  \text{Base}  =  \frac{77.8}{8.5}  \\  \\ \implies  \text{Base}  = 9.15 \:  \text m

Hence, the base of the triangle is 9.15 metres.

A triangle is a closed figure made up of three lines. The area of right triangle is given by -

\text{Area of triangle} = \dfrac{1}{2} * \text{Base} * \text{Height}
