Given:

Fractions  1/2,1/3 and 1/4.

To find:

Find the LCM of 1/2,1/3,1/4.

Solution:

LCM :

  • LCM or Least Common Multiple is a number which divides by given two numbers evenly.
  • LCM is also called the Least Common Divisor
  • Example: LCM (4,5) is 20 then 4,5 will divide 20 evenly or 20 will be the common multiple of 4 and 5.

LCM of 1/2,1/3,1/4 = LCM of Numerators/HCF of Denominators

LCM of Numerators = LCM(1,1,1) = 1

HCF of Denominators = HCF (2,3,4) =1

LCM of 1/2,1/3,1/4 = 1/1 = 1

Therefore, LCM of 1/2,1/3,1/4 = 1
