Find the least number which when divided by 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 leaves the same remainder 1 in each case.

Answer:

Taking the LCM of 6,7,8,9,12 we got 168

so to make it a number leaving 1 as a remainder we will add 1 to 168 making it 169

So 169 is the number req.
