C=complement; A=the angle=C+20 degrees

C+A=90 degrees Substitute for A  

C+C+20degrees=90 degrees

Subtract 20 degrees from each side.

2C=70 degrees

Divide each side by 2.

C=35 degrees ANSWER 1:The complement measures 35 degrees.

A=C+20 degrees=35 degrees + 20 degrees=55 degrees ANSWER 2:The measure of the angle is 55 degrees.

euclid used is if equals are subtracted from equals then parts are equal
