First six even numbers are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12
Median of first six even numbers = 1/2(n/2 + n/2 + 1)
                                                        = 1/2(6/2 + 6/2 + 1)
                                                        = 1/2 (3rd term + 4th term)
                                                        = 1/2 (6+8)
                                                        = 1/2*14
                                                        = 7

Given:

Consider the given first 6 even numbers are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12

Find:

We have to find median of these numbers

Solution:

The ascending form of the given data is

2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12

Here the number of data = n = 6 which is even

If the number of data n is even then the median is the sum of middle two values of the data

If the number of data n is odd then middle value will be median

So median = \frac{6+8}{2}=\frac{14}{2}=7

The required median is 7.
