Answer:

let a be the first term of the series and d be the common difference then

term n = a + ( n - 1 ) d

term 6 = 12 = a + 5d -------- ( 1 )

term 8 = 22 = a + 7d -------- ( 2 )

( 2 ) - ( 1 ) => 2d = 10

=> d = 5

( 1 ) => 12 = a + 5(5)

=> a = ( - 13 )

term n = a + ( n - 1 ) d

=> term n = ( - 13 ) + ( n - 1 ) d
