Solution,

The first digit of 4 digit numbers can't be 0. So we have options to choose the digit from 2,5,7,8 which can be selected in 4 ways.

The second, third, and fourth digits of 4 digit numbers can be 0. So we have options to choose the digit from 0, 2,5,7,8 which can be selected in 5 ways.

  • Mathematically it can be represented as-

   ⇒    4 × 5 × 5 × 5 = 500.

The number of 4 digit numbers that can be formed using the digits 0,2,5,7,8 is 500.
