Power = (WORK/time)

h- is the given height

g acceleration due to gravity take it as 10 m/s

m mass of water given

Here the work is done to lift the water .

Work to lift water is = mgh = 200×10×120

= 240000 J

Time is required in seconds not in minutes so

1min=60sec

5min = 5×60sec

=300 sec

Therefore power =240000/300 =800J/s =800W

Answer:

The correct answer of this question is 800W

Explanation:

Given -   An electric motor if it lifts 200kg of water in 5 minutes from a well of 120m death.

To Find - Find the power of the electric motor if it lifts 200kg of water in 5 minutes from a well of 120m death.

The power of the electric motor is Work/time

Height  = h

g is the acceleration due to gravity take it as 10 m/s

m is the mass of water

Sp, the work to lift water is = m×g×h = 200×10×120

= 240000 J

Time is required in seconds, not in minutes so,

1min = 60sec

5min = 5 × 60sec

= 300 sec

Therefore power is = 240000/300 =800J/s = 800W
