We know that,

when a coin is tossed the possible out comes are :

i) Head

&

ii) Tail,.

So,  number of possible outcomes n(s) = 2,.

⇒ Hence, when the coin is tossed thrice,.

The number of outcomes are : (2)³ = 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 ⇒ n(S) = 8
