Answer:Mass of bullet X Velocity of bullet = Mass of gun X Recoil velocity of gun.

So , A.T.Q

0.025 X 500 = 5 X x

12.5 = 5x

x = 12.5รท5

x = 2.5 m/s

So, the recoli velocity of the gun is 2.5 m/s

I hope it will help!!

Answer:

-2.5 m/s

Given:

(m1)=25 gm

In kg

25 \div 1000 = 0.025 \: kg

(u1)=0

(v1)=500 m/s

Mass of the gun=5 kg

(u2)=0

we know that

m1u1 + m2u2 = m1v1 + m2v2

0.025kg \times 0 + 5kg \times 0 = 0.025kg \times 500m {s}^{ - 1} + 5kg \times v2

0 = 12.5kg \: m {s}^{ - 2}  \times 5kg \times v2

5kg \times v2 =  - 12.5kg \: m {s}^{ - 2}

v2 =  \frac{ - 12.5kg \: m {s}^{ - 2} }{5kg}

v2 =  - 2.5m {s}^{ - 1}

_____________

Recoil velocity of the gun after firing=-2.5 m/s
