SOLUTION

TO SOLVE

Using Elimination method

2x + y – 6 = 0

4x – 2y – 4 = 0

EVALUATION

Here the given system of equations are

2x + y – 6 = 0 - - - - - (1)

4x – 2y – 4 = 0 - - - - - - (2)

Dividing both sides of Equation 2 by 2 we get

2x - y - 2 = 0 - - - - - - - (3)

Equation 1 + Equation 3 gives

4x - 8 = 0

 \implies \sf{4x = 8}

 \implies \sf{x = 2}

From Equation 1 we get

y = 6 - 2x

 \implies \sf{y = 6 - (2  \times 2)}

 \implies \sf{y = 6 - 4}

 \implies \sf{y = 2}

FINAL ANSWER

Hence the required solution is

x = 2 & y = 2
