To find:

The sum of first 50 positive integers which are divisible by 8

Calculation:

The first 50 positive integers which are divisible by 8 are 8, 16, 24,....., 400. The data can be related to arithmetic progression

First term(a) = 8

Common difference(d) = 8

Sum of n terms in A.P is given by the formula

 Sum = (n/2)[2a+(n-1)d]

=> Sum of first 50 terms = (50/2)[2(8)+(50-1)8]

=> Sum = 25[16+392]

=> Sum = 25[408]

=> Sum = 10200

The sum of first 50 positive integers which are divisible by 8 is 10200
