Hi,

This is the example of cyclic silicate with the general formula (SiO3)n2n-

Since there are 6 silicon atoms thus -2n = -12, to balance the charge beryllium and aluminium are present. Aluminium has +3 charge and there are two aluminium atoms thus +6 charge is balanced .now + 6 charge is left which has to be balanced by beryllium. Be has +2 charge thus, there should be three beryllium atoms to balance the whole molecule. Thus n=3.

Concept introduction:

Using chemical element indicators, numbers, and occasionally additional symbols, a chemical formula conveys information about the chemical proportions of the atoms that make up a specific chemical product or unit.

Given:

Here the given molecular formula is BenAl2Si6O18.

To find:

Here we have to find the value of n of the compound.

Solution:

According to the question, This is the example of cyclic silicate with the general formula (SiO3)n2n- Since there are 6 silicon atoms thus -2n = -12, to balance the charge beryllium and aluminum are present. Aluminum has +3 charge and there are two aluminum atoms thus +6charge is balanced .now+ 6 charge is left which has to be balanced by beryllium. Be has +2 charge thus, there should be three beryllium atoms to balance the whole molecule. Thus n=3.

Final answer:

Here we have done the calculation and the value of n is +3 and this is our final answer also.
