For having equal roots, the discriminant should be 0

Δ = 0

p²-4(4)(3)=0

p²-48 = 0

p² = 48

p =√48 .

Hope helped!

4x² + px + 3 = 0

The quadratic equation has equal roots.
Means,
Discriminant is equal to zero.
b² - 4ac = 0

p² - 4(4)(3) = 0
p² - 48 = 0
p² = 48
p = ± √48

Hope it helps
