6x {}^{2}  + x - 40 = 0 \\  \\ 6x {}^{2} + 16x - 15x - 40 = 0 \\  \\  6x {}^{2}  - 15x + 16x - 40 = 0 \\  \\ 3x(2x - 5) + 8(2x - 5) = 0 \\  \\ (2x - 5)(3x + 8) = 0 \\  \\ 2x - 5 = 0 \: or \: 3x + 8 = 0 \\  \\ 2x = 5 \: or \: 3x =  - 8 \\  \\ x =  \frac{5}{2} or \frac{ - 8}{3}  \\  \\  \\
