Solution :-

Writing the given information by observing the given figure

  • Exterior angle = 100°
  • Interior angles = ( x , 60° )

We need to find ,

  • x from the following figure

Method of solving ,

  • Exterior angle property :- Exterior angle = sum of two interior opposite angles .

Now , finding x using the given property ,

⇒ 100° = x° + 60°

⇒ 100° - 60° = x°

x = 40°

Note :- This property is only for triangles .

Hence , x = 40°

Firstly :-

=> 100° + a = 180° 【 Linear pair of angles 】

=> a = 180° - 100°

=> a = 80°

Secondly :-

∠a = 80°

∠b = 60°

∠x = ?

Thirdly :-

Finding ∠x

=> ∠a + ∠b + ∠x = 180° 【 sum of all the angles of triangle are 180° 】

=> 80° + 60° + ∠x = 180°

=> 140° + ∠x = 180°

=> ∠x = 180° - 140°

=> ∠x = 40°

Hence , ∠x is 40°
