find the value of x
 \frac{x + 1}{2}  =  \frac{x - 1}{3}

Hey... I think this can be ur answer!!

x+1/2 = x-1/3
3(x+1)=2(x-1)
3x+3=2x-2
x=-5

 \frac{x + 1}{2}  =  \frac{x - 1}{3}  \\  \\ by \:  \: cross  \:  \: multiplying \\ we \: \:  get \\  \\ 3(x + 1) =2 (x - 1) \\  \\  3x + 3 = 2x - 2 \\  \\ 3x - 2x =  - 2 - 3 \\  \\ x =  - 5
