Ideal solution :- A solution that obey the Raoult's law is called ideal solution

  • The interaction between components of the ideal solution is the same as the interaction between molecules of each components.

  • Heat is neither evolved nor absorbed on mixing

  • ex- ∆H mixing= 0

  • The volume of the solution is exactly equal to the sum of the volume of the liquids which are mixed together.

  • The solute should be non-volatile and non-electrolyte

  • There must not be dissociation of solute in the solution

  • The azeotropic composition is not found in an ideal solution.
