-4x = 40 [by cross multiplication]

 \Large{x = \frac{40}{-4}}

 \Large{x = \frac{\cancel{40}}{\cancel{-4}}}

 \Large{\boxed{\pink{\mathsf{x = - 10}}}}

Answer: -4/5=8/x

-4/5×x = 8

-4x=8×5

X=40/-4= -10/1

Then,

x= -10
