Find three consecutive even numbers such that the sum of the first and the last numbers exceeds the middle number by 20.

Here is your answer my friend.
let the three consecutive even no. be
2x,2x+2,2x+4
now sum of first and last term exceed the middle term by 20
=>2x+2x+4=2x+2+20
=>x=9
therefore numbers are
18,20,22
