Step-by-step explanation:

so z2 - 6z + 6 = 0

a = 1

b = 6

c = 6

D = b2 - 4ac

if discriminant is zero then equation has equal roots.

if discriminant is not 0 but greater than 0 then it has distinct roots.

b2 - 4ac = 6^2 - 4(1)(6)

= 36 - 24

D = 8

therfore the roots are distinct not equal.
