 - 5x + 1x( - 5) = ( - 5)7  \\  - 5x - 5x =  - 35 \\  - 10x =  - 35 \\ x =  - 35 \div  - 10 \\ x = 3.5

Given,

(-5)x + (-5)x = (-5)7

To find,

The value of x.

Solution,

Since on Left Hand Side, both variables are the same so they can be added.

So in LHS we would get,

(-5)x + (-5)x = -(10)x

Now in the RHS we would get,

(-5)(7) = -35

Equating, LHS and RHS we would get,

-10x = -35

x = -35/-10

As both numerator and denominator have a common factor (-5) hence, we would get

x = (-5)7 / (-5)2

x = 7 / 2.

Hence, the value of x = 7 /2.
