Mean is given by :-

 \frac{sum \: of \: observations}{total \: number \: of \: observations} \\

Here, observations are the weights of 10 new born babies, which are :-

3.4, 3.6, 4.2, 4.5, 3.9, 4.1, 3.8, 4.5, 4.4, 3.6.

Their sum = 40 kg

and total number = 10 babies.

So, mean =

 \frac{40}{10} \\ = 4

Hence, mean is 4 kg.

→ Mean is a measure of central tendency which gives us a rough idea about the range of observations.

Hello mate !!!

Answer :-

Given observations are :-

3.4 , 3.6,4.2,3.9,4.1,3.8,4.5,4.4,3.6

Total nunber of observations are 10.

As we know ,

Mean = Sum of the given observations /Total number of observations.

》 3.4+3.6+4.2+3.9+4.1+3.8+4.5+4.4+3.6/10

=> 40/10

> 4 kg.

Hope this helps ★
