For any substance why does the temperature remain constant during the change of the state ?

The heat is given during the change of state is utilised to overcome the forces of attraction in the form of latent heat and hence the temperature is constant.

Because with the increase of temperature, more number of particles get enough kinetic energy to go into the vapour state. Hence temperature remains constant during the change of state.
