The shallow water bodies having lesser depth have more conductive as well as convective heat transfer from the surrounding ground to the small patch of water causing more evaporation, but for sea water where the depth is more and quantity of water is much the convective as well as conductive heat transfer couldn't evaporate ample volume. However in winter when the sea temperature is more than the Continental temperature could create the saturated vapour from sensible heat of self to evaporate more,but the water bodies on continental surface with lesser depth could not evaporate for its temperature being equal to the surrounding continental surface temperature.
