For effective radiation by electric room heater what should be done ? Why?

To increase the heat produced by a room heater, just take off the heating element (nichrome wire) and then lengthen it by adding more nichrome wires to increase its resistance so that more heat is produced. Now, roll the wire and place it back again. Thus, due to high resistance, more amount of heat will be produced. However, more energy will be consumed too....
