For the reaction, 2NO2 (g)======2NO (g) + O2(g), Kc = 1.8 × 10^6 at 185°C. At 185°C, the value of Kc for the reaction - NO(g) + 1/2 O2(g)====== NO2(g) is

Bonjour!!

For reaction,

2NO2 ====== 2NO + O2

[ Kc = 1.8 × 10^6 ] ----(1)

Kc for eq. (2) = Kc'

NO + 1/2O2 ===== NO2

--------(2)

Reaction (2) is the reverse reaction of reaction (1) and divided by 1/2, hence

Kc' = 1/Kc

Kc' = √(1/ Kc)

Kc' = √( 1/ 1.8×10^6 )

Kc' = 0.76 × 10^-6

Kc' = 7.6 × 10^-7
