Answer:4 jule

Explanation:At the time of maximum compression velocity of both blocks are same.

From linear momentum conservation,

           3*2 = (3+6)*v

             6 = 9v

              v= 2/3 m/s^{2}

From energy conservation,

              \frac{1}{2}*3*2^{2}=\frac{1}{2}*(3+6)*(\frac{2}{3} ) ^{2}+ U\\

                6= 2+U

                U= 4 Jule

Hence, maximum energy stored in the spring is 4 Jule
